Fossilplukking med Svalbard Huskies On this tour you will be able to hunt for fossils around the island of
Svalbard. We will pick you up in a 4x4 terrain car and drive you up to
Nybyen. Here the road will end and we will go off road to cross the
the river of Breelva before continuing up to Mine 4. We will leave the
car and set course on the Longyearbreen bogland, known for it
abundance of fossils. We will pass an old dog yard next to the
mountain Sarkofagen. Well up at the bogland we will start hunting for
fossils. Here we will start searching for fossils. Some of our finds
have been up to 60 million years old and makes a wonderful souvenir.
We will have time for a cup of coffee or tea and before making our way
back home to Longyearbyen.
This
tour will suit all ages. We recommend to dress in warm winter clothing
and a wind resistant jacket. Minimum guests for this tour is 2.
